Initial design brief and simple return brief (per solution area)

This is our initial meeting, where we discuss exactly what you are looking for and highlight the best options available. The intent is to review the project, brainstorm potential solutions, and evaluate factors that might impact your choices.

One of the most important parts of design is the early identification of issues—whether related to existing structures, potential logistical factors, or material considerations—that could become expensive later on. Remember, solving an issue during the design stage is effectively free; making changes once construction has begun is always more expensive.

Following this meeting, I will provide two perspective options for your consideration, a high-level summary, and an indicative cost estimate based on visual assessment. You are completely free to use these design options to seek quotes from others.

If you would like to proceed with a formal quote from Odd Spot Carpentry, please let me know and we can arrange the next steps. Additionally, a $100 credit will be applied toward your project if you choose to build with us. Additional discounts will apply if multiple areas require solutions.

General Building Services

Sometimes you know what you want, and just need someone to come over to help you achieve it.

As a carpenter who is familiar with all stages of construction, I can help you to complete the job at hand.

Think of this like a handyman role (fixing doors, painting, tiling etc), but as a carpenter I am also able to help you with more complicated tasks like diagnosing and repairing different elements, and preparing for future works by other trades.

Please note that there are restrictions on the works that can be completed in a short visit, either due to the time taken (paint drying, etc.) or where a building permit would be required these can include: moving or demolishing load bearing walls, building roofed structures over 10m2, etc.

If the job is more complicated an Initial design brief and simple return brief is required to scope the area to determine the best solution..

Minimum callout is 2 hours and materials are not included.
